Credit Cards Risk Analyst - Data Mining / Database

This position will drive risk assessment for growth initiatives and play a key role in validating existing criteria and maximizing portfolio profitability. This position will partner with cross-functional teams to develop deepening strategies, cross-selling campaigns, as well delivery channels to provide growth opportunities for the business. It will direct and prioritize all Existing Customer Maintenance (ECM, defined as customers with more than 12 months) and Acquisition (new customers) activities, providing strategic vision and leadership to achieve business objectives.

The product scope of the functions covers Cards and/or Retail products in Central America.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES:

Development of analytical framework for the setting of credit maintenance policies across product lines (i.e. credit line management, cross-sell, authorizations, over limit, renewal/reissue, collections, cash advance policies, top ups)

Monitors and validates credit policies across programs and ensures accuracy and integrity in the design, development, and implementation

Develops performance / profitability benchmarks to ensure results are aligned with expectations, recommends changes where needed

Proactively finds new ways to leverage credit bureau information within the underwriting criteria

Strategically develops, designs, and executes tests that will enable future growth, strategy optimization or process enhancement.

Process improvement for cross-sell, in coordination with the in-country Sales units
Ensure compliance with GCCFRP policies

* Bilingual English / Spanish skills preferred *

Strong analytical, organizational and communications skills (written and verbal). This person must understand analytical / statistical models that support credit policies development. Ability to work with databases and analytical packages (SAS, Access, other), and very computer literate with Microsoft Office.

Management Skills:

This candidate must have the ability to manage conflictive situations. This candidate will possess strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (written and verbal). Must be a team player, very self-motivated and able to manage and prioritize workload with minimal supervision.

Functional Skills:

This candidate should be experienced in credit/risk management with familiarity in consumer credit functions, credit controls, credit decisions tools and profitability analysis with the capacity to learn new analytically driven methodologies. This person will also have strong technical and analytical skills, very good follow-through on problem resolution and attention to details and demonstrate the ability to extract and synthesize data, determine trends and make creative recommendations based on facts and data. This candidate will need to effectively communicate with many levels of senior management throughout the credit and business organization.

Other Skills:

The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of business experience in advanced risk analytics including strategy definition and implementation. Prior experience in policy definition for multi-products (Cards and Retail products) is a plus.
