Description:

Engineer will be responsible for maintaining codebase for several on-going development projects either as a team member or lead developer.

Engineer will also play a key role in design and implementation new projects, new features, components, refactoring, enhancements, updates, fixes, testing and deployment.

This role will report directly to a remote manager, will work with some staff and be accountable to others in New York. The individual should thus have exceptional ability to both work independently and in a team and possess outstanding communication skills. Position may include supervisory responsibilities.

Specifications / Qualifications:
Key requirements:
5-7 years experience with technology
Computer Science background or equivalent knowledge
Familiarity and experience with Core Java, Core Java Web, Modern Web MVC
Familiarity and experience with Design Patterns, Unit testing, Documentation
Familiarity and experience with Databases
Javascript/AJAX, Standards-oriented XHTML/CSS
Proficiency with Windows and Unix
Supervisory skills/experience Practices and Qualities:
Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle
Good communication skills
Self-motivated, ability and desire to keep up with technology
Experience with or likely to work well with designers
Ability to work in a team role
Nice to haves:
Experience with Ant, Subversion, Spring, ORM, Web Services, Frameworks, IDE like Eclipse or NetBeans, Tomcat, commercial JEE Server
Experience with Interactive Design
Experience with other programming & scripting languages: C/C++, Python, Php, Ruby, Shell
Ability to work in a leadership role
